Today it's directly warm - only -4° in the morning! It stormed again at night, but now a beautiful day begins! The sun even manages to rise a few centimeters above the horizon and we are on our way to Inari, the capital of the Finnish Sámi (formerly called the Lapps). We visit the Sámi Museum Siida there, which is housed in an architecturally impressive building. Here, the culture of the Sámi people, the landscape of Lapland, and the wildlife are presented in a modern way. I am very glad that I was already in Lapland in the summer of 1978, back then by car (borrowed a Renault 16 from my dad, in which we also slept 😅). Back then, I saw the Sámi people in their tents and in their traditional costumes - today you can only see that in the museum. By the way, the Sámi people have their own language, which is not related to Finnish. They live not only in the Finnish part of Lapland, but also in Norway and Sweden.
The Sámi Parliament is unfortunately closed, so we continue to Norway, because the North Cape belongs to Norway and can only be reached from the Norwegian side. Along the way, reindeer often cross our path. They are marked with paint and belong to a reindeer farm, but move freely in the forests, mostly in pairs.

In Karasjok a few kilometers after the Norwegian border, we find our home for the night on a beautiful campsite. We have come closer to the North Cape again!
