Early in the morning I got up for a quick breakfast and to pack all my things. After saying goodbye to Ines and Joao I got on my uber ride to the airport.
The uber driver actually asked what I had paid for the ride and I told him it was 55€ which frustrated him because uber only paid him 30€ for this ride even though he had to get up so early.
I gave him a 5€ tip though.
The check in took a bit more time because the baggage machine was broken and I had to carry my bag to the oversized baggage drop off.
The flight was also a bit delayed and when boarding finally started I noticed that there were signs that said all carry on baggage had to be dropped off at the check in, since only premium class was allowed to have a carry on bag. And there was a 40€ fee for anyone who hadn't done that.
I in fact hadn't given my bag to check in because so far that was never a thing and I also did not want to pay a 40€ fine. So I just wrapped my backpack into my jacket so it looked like I have a really massive jacket under my arm.
Which surprisingly worked with no problem. And it felt very illegal.
Arriving in Ireland it took tma while for my luggage to arrive, then I joined Kelly on a taxi ride to the hostel that we would be staying at for tonight with the other volunteers. Before everybody would leave for their project tomorrow.
We spent the day exploring cork or more getting lost in cork and trying to find our way back.
In the evening we had dinner with one of the coordinators and the other volunteers. There are 7 of us in total. It was a fun time though after dinner I was the only one who still wanted to walk across the city for a bit.
I went to a nearby arcade and played a few games before heading back. I am quite tired again.
Tomorrow is the general introduction day with a short tour around cork. Then we all leave for our projects. One of the volunteers is also going to the same project as me.
