After over 30,000 kilometers, it's now "time to say goodbye". In the last few weeks, we discovered a few nice spots in Argentina. First, we visited a petrified forest off Ruta 3. At first, we were skeptical if this detour would be worth it. The concern was unfounded. It was simply fascinating. The tree trunks on the small circular path looked completely real and only on closer inspection did we realize that it was stone.
A few days later, we wanted to see these cute penguins again. This time a little smaller, the Magellan penguins in the Dos Bahias nature reserve. The breeding season had just begun in the colony and we even discovered a few penguin babies. In addition to the penguins, there were also guanacos, lizards, armadillos, and a flat tire in the reserve.
It was typical again, the evening before we praised Maggi that he had not had a flat tire yet and what did we discover the next day? Exactly, a huge flat tire, driver's side. Any help came too late, the carcass was broken and the inner tube was sliced open. The matter was settled in an hour. But not for Kai. The pit stop caused a hellish muscle ache due to lack of work activities. The aftereffects of the 100 kilo wheel haunted him every step of the way. That's why we took a few relaxing days off. The pitch was great. Our neighbors were huge belching sea lions and seals.
Our personal highlight, however, was the unexpected meeting with Sabine and Uli. Kai was cursing the extreme Patagonian wind when suddenly "Mani" appeared at the end of the street. Simply madness, in the eighth largest country on earth, you run into each other by chance. Mega cool 😊.
Before we headed back to Buenos Aires on Ruta 3, we made a detour to the "largest" parrot colony in South America. Another impressive experience.
We have now reached the starting point of our journey again. This Thursday, Maggi will be handed over to the port and then it's back to Germany. We are excited and hope you enjoyed our little anecdotes. Adiós amigos!!!!!
