Paracas is a protected coastal area and is also known as the Galapagos of Peru. With a chaotic and poorly organized tour, we visited the nature reserve from Pisco. First, we took a boat to small islands where many seabirds and sea lions live. We made a stop at a chandelier painted in the sand, which was drawn by the same people as the Nazca Lines 800-200 BC. We skipped the Nazca Lines as they can only be seen from an expensive flight. Well, we still got our money's worth.
After the islands, we continued through the reserve by car. Here, an average of 5 mm of rain falls per year, and it last rained 3 years ago. The desert with its beaches was very impressive, but you also quickly get tired of it.
