Hakone is located 100 km southwest of Tokyo. Hakone is famous for its many hot springs (onsen) and is a small town with about 14,000 inhabitants. This is where the people from Tokyo come to relax. And this is where I now work in a guesthouse with its own onsen :D Maybe I can take a photo of it sometime (if no one is inside of course).
I clean the rooms, showers, and toilets, make the beds, and tidy up the rooms. Always from 11 am to 3 pm, 5 times a week.
Cleaning would be less exhausting if I didn't sweat as much
like a pig. But it's summer here in Japan after all. And it's much more humid than in our country.
In return, I get to live here for free and receive basic groceries. There are also two French helpers here, both of whom I get along really well with (20 and 32 years old). The rest of the team is also very nice and all the Japanese people can speak English and no one wants to speak Japanese with me :D
