Before going on the whale watching tour, we wanted to check out the city beach. Unfortunately, it was low tide and not suitable for swimming. We then took a long walk around the city and back to the campsite. After a late lunch (sausages, potatoes, and vegetables), we were picked up at 4 pm.
We spent a total of 2 hours on the open sea. There were 14 tourists in total, so we had plenty of space on the boat. The tour cost $67 per person, which is quite affordable.
Within 10 minutes of the drive, we already saw whales. It's simply fascinating how huge these animals are. We saw whales throughout the 2 hours, sometimes far away and sometimes very close. We watched a mother whale and her baby sleeping. We could hear them breathe. However, taking a photo at the right moment was not easy.
We had champagne, beer, and water to drink. The snacks were completely gluten-free, as we had specified beforehand. There were rice crackers, ham, salami, cheese, olives, carrots, celery, and dips. They even showed me the packaging again. Booking a tour here in Australia is easier for us because we don't have to worry about food.
