Day 50 - 10/29/23
From Wanaka we drove to Queentstown via the Crown Range Road. As a stopover for our cappu/latte we chose Arrowtown, a pretty little historic gold mining town.
The gold diggers came mainly from China - economic refugees - and were warmly welcomed and tolerated until more and more came. This was also the case here
The refugee problem arose and racism took its course.
In the early evening we explored Queenstown - our actual destination - on foot along the lake and in the CBD and drank a Guinness and a Pilsner with very good live music before falling tiredly into bed after another 15,800 steps. - I say it - “5 cm”.
