Ipiales

Ipiales was the last stop before the border, the drive from san Augustin took longer than planned (17h), so we chose the first hostel we found at midnight and went straight to sleep.

In the morning, we visited the beautiful cathedral and then prepared ourselves for the border crossing.

We took a taxi to the border and were surprised by the many Venezuelans who also wanted to cross the border. However, this process takes longer than for us, so all the tourists were let through first, and we were able to enter Ecuador quickly and in a short time. We took a taxi to the nearest larger city and then continued by bus to Otovalo.
