Ribadeo to Goiriz via Mondoñedo

After enjoying the previous evening in the old town of Ribadeo with mild temperatures and Galician specialties, we first took the bus to Mondoñedo in the morning. We had to "jump" again so that we can reach our destination, Santiago de Compostela, in the remaining time. Once we arrived in Mondoñedo, we had to climb uphill for 10 km, a total of 530 meters in elevation. The "rest phase" the day before helped us during this ascent. Once we reached the top, we had a fantastic view of the valley we just crossed. The next kilometers were characterized by dusty paths, which are also used as access roads for new wind turbines. We took a short break in a cafe bar and then continued on beautiful old forest and hollow paths to our destination, Goiriz, which we reached after sometimes very strenuous 29 km. It is worth mentioning here that when crossing to the Galician side, the distance in kilometers to Santiago de Compostela is also indicated on the signposts.
