What do you take with you for a year in South America?

So, now I finally have all the things on my packing list together and now I have to do what I always have the biggest horror of when traveling: packing!

Actually, I love any variety and selection and can easily pack 8 pairs of shoes for a 3-day short trip (then Tommy usually had to carry the luggage), but this time it's not possible! EVERYTHING has to fit into one backpack and I have to carry it myself too! In order for me to get by with as few clothes as possible for a year, everything naturally has to be color-coordinated and shouldn't necessarily look like 'trekking clothes.' I absolutely hate mismatched color combinations and trekking clothes :) That's why I've been searching for 2 years now and have put together many cool pieces that meet my requirements. Since we're traveling through all climate zones (rainforest, highlands, desert, Patagonia, Caribbean, ...), we also have to have everything from bathing suits and beach towels to fleece sweaters and down sleeping bags!

In addition, we also have all our electronic gadgets for us media victims. And sunscreen and a dictionary and ...

I'm curious if my 55 liter backpack turns out to be a space miracle!
