Rain! Unbelievable! The last thing one associates with Hawaii is rain - hula skirts with rain, Mai Tai with rain, Elena in Hawaii with rain - yes! Darn it. Well, I can't change it. As mentioned before, Engadiners can be found everywhere - yes, even in Honolulu. Today, Zoe met with Ladina and I met with Eveline. Ladina is a ski instructor colleague of Zoe's and I worked with Eveline in the Jet Set. Eveline then fell in love with a Hawaiian and the rest is history. I drove for about 1 hour to the North Shore of Oahu. Gripping the steering wheel with both hands, slightly leaning forward, relaxed is something else. But, a foreign country, a foreign car, and foreign driving behavior can cause white knuckles on the clutching steering wheel. But everything went well. By now, it had stopped raining. The reunion was very warm and we went on a hike. The fact that all my friends are hiking enthusiasts is probably my destiny... which I courageously accept. It felt like I was climbing Piz Nair - only worse! The ground was exclusively wet and slippery soil. It was like walking on soap under the soles, and that on at least a 20% slope!! I won the battle and was rewarded with an incredibly beautiful view when I reached the viewpoint. But you shouldn't praise the day before the evening - I still had to go downhill! In the end, the mountain won and I looked like I had been through a mud fight 😊 Eveline had to move on and I used up half of the Pacific Ocean to get clean again. That was actually a waste, as the sky opened up again and gave everything... I drove back to the south along the coast to Honolulu (with a few detours, as I got lost) where I met up with Zoe again. I had an uncontrollable desire to immerse myself in civilization again, so we made a pilgrimage to the world's largest open-air shopping center, conveniently located in Honolulu. Yes, baby! The rest is history 😉

Rain! No way! The last thing one associates with Hawaii is rain - hula skirts with rain - no, Mai Tai with rain - no, Elena in Hawaii with rain - yes! F***. Ok I can't change it, so I am going to accept it. As mentioned before, the Engadins can be found everywhere - yes, also in Honolulu. Today Zoe met up with Ladina and I met up with Eveline. Ladina is a ski teacher friend of Zoe's and I worked with Eveline at Jet Set many moons ago. Eveline then fell in love with a Hawaiian and the rest is history. I drove about 1 hour by car to the North Shore of Oahu. Gripping the wheel with both hands, slightly bent forward, relaxed driving is different. Foreign country, foreign car, and foreign driving habits can cause white knuckles while gripping the wheel tightly. But everything went well and the rain stopped. The reunion was lovely and we went on a hike. The fact that all my friends love hiking seems to be my destiny... which I accept humbly. It felt like climbing Piz Nair (the highest mountain in St. Moritz) - only worse! The ground was mainly wet slippery soil. That was like walking on slippery soap under the soles, and that on a slope of at least 20%! I won the battle and was richly rewarded with an incredibly beautiful view from the observation platform at the top. But you shouldn't praise the day before the evening - I still had to go down! In the end, the mountain won and I looked like I had been through a mud fight. 😊 Eveline had to move on and I used up half of the Pacific Ocean to get clean again. That was actually a waste, as the sky opened up again and poured everything down... I drove back to the south along the coast to Honolulu (with a few detours as I got lost) and met up with Zoe again. I had an immense desire to dive back into civilization, so we went on a pilgrimage to the world's largest open-air mall which is conveniently located in Honolulu. Yes, baby! The rest is history 😉
