It was 10:00 again when Anita and Julius woke up. We slowly got up and going.
A quick trip to the toilet, prepare breakfast, eat breakfast, tidy up, and clean the motorhome.
Most of our shoes are still wet from the last rain, so we are putting them in the sun wherever possible.
Then a little game of frisbee with the kids. This time we walked to the ferry in the small, beautiful village of Solvorn.
Anita and I enjoyed the waiting time in the sun while the kids built a dam by a small stream by the sea. I must say - very relaxing.
The ferry ride was on a small ferry where the vehicles had to park in reverse. It was entertaining and calm.
In Urnes, we had plums and raspberries and hiked a few hundred meters up to the church.
The church from 1130 is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as it is not only the oldest stave church in Norway, but also because the altar area actually dates back to that time. Of course, the church has been slightly adapted over the many centuries, but the character of the 12th century has been preserved. Definitely worth a visit. There are also very few people here during the off-season.
Feeling hungry, we took the ferry back and had some sandwiches, toast, and ice cream before playing another round of football.
Our next destination is another stave church and, above all, a hiking trail that has existed for 1000 years.
