Today we started with the Swedish island hopping in the Hanö bay. The first island to explore, Hanö, gives its name to the entire bay and is very popular among both Swedes and tourists. The landscape is truly phenomenal. From the small harbor, where we are moored alongside the pier as there are no berths, you can set off in various directions for short hikes. We went to the highest point of the island, where a small lighthouse stands. The view from the top is really impressive. You can see a large part of the entire bay.
The landscape here is also quite unique. The plants and the many rocks and bushes are unusual. Now you really feel like you have arrived in the Swedish archipelago.
The harbor was very busy all day. A small ferry brings tourists to the island for day trips. Now in the evening, it's starting to calm down.
Tomorrow we will continue to the next island. The distances between the islands in the bay are only a few nautical miles, so the voyages themselves are now less of a challenge. The challenge now lies more in the matter of mooring. Because many of the islands no longer have traditional ports, we will have to moor to rocks or use a stern anchor. It will be very interesting this week 🙈
