Giant slalom conquers

The forecasts also predicted wind conditions of 50-72 km/h for today. Nevertheless, the women's giant slalom was given a small chance. The coaches had just come down the slope as we got on the chairlift. At the top, I learned from an Austrian coach that it will soon be decided whether the course inspection can take place at all. We went to the athletes' lounge, where it quickly became apparent that there will be no race today. It is simply too stormy. I had already made myself comfortable with the Swedish team. Frida Hansdotter made a very nice and of course also beautiful impression on me. Unfortunately, we could only stay in the lounge briefly, as our camera man Mäce was allowed to take some weather pictures. The wind was insane. Our Peter was literally blown away. The gate flags and the B-nets were completely bent. A race was simply out of the question.

At half past nine, the jury decided that the women's slalom will take place on Wednesday and the giant slalom on Thursday. For us, this means work. Set up for slalom and then set up again for the giant slalom after the slalom. In the afternoon, Hans Pieren defined the position of the start house. Since the slalom will now be first, followed by the giant slalom, and then the men's slalom, the starting gate was placed on the right. Beni Giger had set up so that the starting gate is on the left as originally planned. This caused additional reconstruction work. Since the chairlift was no longer running in the afternoon, we were driven to the slalom slope by a Bulgarian piste vehicle driver, where we could start the rebuilding work.

In the evening, we visited the House of Austria. Unfortunately, we did not have an invitation and 400 euros was too much for us. So we went to the economy class and had cheese spaetzle and drank a beer that was even more expensive than in the House of Switzerland.
