Very early in the morning, the conductor woke us up, shortly before Sundsvall, to get us off the train on time.
Arriving at the train station, we kept ourselves awake with videos until our nice host picked us up and we could finally get some sleep for a few hours.
Rested and fortified with a good breakfast, we took the bus to downtown Sundsvall.
The first thing we noticed were the many little dragon figures. Along the main street - Storgatan - we found the casino, town hall, city hall, and the main church of the city.
After the city tour, we headed to the nearest mountain - Norra Berget - recommended by our host.
We climbed stairs to an increasingly better view and finally to an open-air museum at the top of the mountain. There was also a lookout tower that had to be climbed, of course.
We had a beautiful view and a sunny afternoon break.
After that, we went back to the city for some ice cream and took the bus back to our accommodation.
Fortified with a homemade dinner, we decided to climb Norra Berget again to finally experience a sunset in the north.
Well, we did it. The fact is: it's incredible! We even saw a red moon, pink clouds, and a fantastic pink/red sky!
After the long hike back and a warm shower, we will soon go to sleep.
Tomorrow is another travel day - we're heading back to the south! Home is getting closer and closer!
(Side fact: 22km walking distance)
