Today we're having breakfast out. There are restaurants lined up on the promenade opposite. There's a bakery twice around the corner. We buy a baguette there just in case. On the way there we noticed WIKIKI, breakfast from 900.
Since the baguette was more of a stopgap solution, we settled into the comfortable armchairs at WIKIKI. It was still a few minutes until 9:00, but the staff were already waiting in the wings.
Heike chose a croissant and I chose a breakfast platter. The music in the background added to the atmosphere.
So, charged with new energy, we had to set off on a little round trip. Artà was programmed into the satnav. First we had to fight our way through the one-way street jungle of Rajada before we crossed the bypass road outside of it towards Artà. Our route took us along all sorts of side streets, right through Capdepera. At the end of the town we were back on the road. Our satnav ignored the next turnoff and led us along small side streets and dirt tracks to Arta.
Once there, my backside was yearning for a well-cushioned chair and the dust I had picked up from the person in front of me also wanted to be washed away.
So we settled down in the Cafè Gran Via on C. de Ciutat. With a good view, we were able to observe the hustle and bustle and recover from the initial exertions.
We then set off via C. de Ciutat and Carrer d'Antoni Blanes Joan towards the Santuari de Sant Salvador. Heike bought some pastries on the way. When we arrived at the top of the Santuari de Sant Salvador, we were happy that we could take our bikes up to the top.
We took the obligatory walk along the fortress wall and enjoyed the fantastic view and dared to take a look inside the church.
We left the restaurant Cafeteria Sant Salvador to the left; we had decided to take the AutoRoute instead of the cycle route on the way home.
We then stopped for a break opposite Gustav’s berth on the harbour promenade.
