Larissa
Today was Larissa's last day, so in the morning we had a bit longer breakfast.
Then we went down and helped clean the underside of the meat fridge. Since the power outage some of the blood melted and dripped outside.
After that we started with the elephant enclosure.
Next up was refilling the water in the big enclosure. Last night we drove through here as well.
Then it was already time for lunch. Larissa stayed at the tents so me and lea went back alone.
We cleaned the elephant waterhole and quickly swept the container with the big food bags.
After that we brought more hay to the rhino. It was watching us but wasn't really aggressive today.
Mariné went to pick up Larissa and me and lea did the elephant food. Larissa came out of the car in tears and we said goodbye to each other.
Then she got in the transport bus with the ranger Lu who also picked me up. And we waved her goodbye.
We then brought hay to the other side as well and after that were already done with the afternoon.
We got driven back and watched from the main tent towards the springbok trap. Today they were going to try again.
So we watched from afar with the binoculars while having dinner and saw some springbok go in and out again.
Then after a while they triggered the trap and me and lea started to run towards it.
The springbok around the trap were running away and some came out of the trap as well.
I suddenly didn't hear Lea's footsteps anymore, as it turned out she had fallen further back flat on the ground. She was fine just lost her phone and was a bit embarrassed that she couldn't keep up with a computer nerd.
We reached the trap with Chris and his son and saw that no springbok was inside. The weights on one side were loose from the net and that's how they escaped again.
Chris was mad and told us that he was going to move it tomorrow and maybe change a few things.
We walked back to our tents and played some games. When we wanted to watch a movie suddenly the power went out so we had no light or Wi-Fi.
So we were back to playing games until it was too cold.
In the tents, the power thankfully came back on.
