Let's go early, at 08:00 I'm rolling off the field. I'm circling Lake Taupo on the western side, the familiar small road leads me past steam clouds rising from the mountain. I will encounter such volcanic activities later on the Coromandel Peninsula.
I continue towards Hamilton, the landscape is just as overwhelming as the route from Uckerrath to Altenkirchen.. I mean nice, but almost like home..
In Tokoroa, the nice inhabitants have already erected a monument for me...
...in Hamilton, Richard O'Brian, the author of the Rocky Horror Picture Show, has been given a monument. He worked here as a hairdresser and was inspired by B-movies in the evenings for his musical..
I only pass through Auckland, but I briefly go to Mount Wellington, a small mountain of volcanic origin, to get oriented.
In Orewa, 20km north of Auckland, I find a nice spot right by the sea.
I don't think I've introduced the camping conversion yet, which Robin and Christoph did in the spring:
Below the sleeping area, on the back left, all kitchen appliances and dishes are neatly sorted and documented (!!!), on the back right is the pantry (By the way, the only dark bread you can get here is called 'German Rye')
In the direction of travel, on the left side, is general storage, the camping table and chairs, as well as the kiteboard. I always put that out at the site, looks cooler....
On the right side, at the bottom, is the wardrobe, next to it is the laundry bag and toiletry bag.
As you can see, everything is there, everything is inside... Boys, you did a great job....
Tomorrow, I'm going to a specialized workshop for starters and alternators, I hope they can help me because the bearing noise has become a bit louder... But it wouldn't be a Haese vacation if not...
