08/17 (Thursday)
Finally sunshine, all day long. The day started quite fresh, but you could already see the sun behind the last clouds and it was possible to have breakfast outside again with a view of the water. After a relaxing morning we set off for Hardangervidda National Park (approx. 1 hour drive). The campsite of our choice was Kinsarvik Camping and the Google reviews kept their promises. Above the road, with an unobstructed view of the fjord, we booked ourselves in for two nights - with the possibility of an extension. The space is large, but great. We have a “corner plot” and therefore only neighbors on one side. The pitches are very large, the sanitary facilities are new and clean and there are ovens in the communal kitchen. Tomorrow we'll eat fries, Sven promised me. The standard is high and we feel very comfortable.
I'm still hoping for a little hidden camping spot away from the road, but we still have almost two weeks to find one just like that.
Since we had planned to have a quiet day, Sven and I went for a run and explored (unplanned) part of the national park and the waterfalls. Michel was more content and happier than usual throughout the day and I expected a busy evening. The calm before the storm? On the contrary: he fell asleep without any problems. I think it's never been so easy. He's still a baby, but I'm still incredibly proud of him.
Right now we are sitting in front of the camper, looking at the fjord and praying to the weather gods that he will give us a few more sunny and dry days.
