Today we visited the Fushimi Inari-Taisha temple. From there, a path leads up to Mount Inari, lined with 1000 red gates. Unfortunately, the path was extremely crowded with people who stopped in the gates to take photos of the tunnels. That's why we decided not to take photos of the tunnels (you can find plenty on Google) and also abandoned the climb after less than half of the way.
There was a path off the main route through a bamboo forest. Instead of people, we encountered large spiders, wild boars, and monkeys there. That's why we have beautiful photos in the forest. Unfortunately, we weren't prepared against mosquitoes and other insects, so we completely abandoned the climb and went to the Imperial Gardens of Kyoto instead.
