Noosa(ville) - Stop #6

Lolomiina: 29.11.2017

25th - 27th November

Unfortunately, the bus that was supposed to pick us up in Hervey Bay in the morning broke down in Airlie Beach. Therefore, we had to wait an hour longer for the next bus. At 8.40am we were finally able to head towards Noosa. 🚌

We arrived there at 2pm. Sabine and Andy had the same destination as Jenny and me. Sabine even booked the same hostel as us.

The hostel was okay. However, I got the top bunk bed,πŸ›Œ and it didn't have a ladder or a guard rail. Jenny was in a different room for the first time since our trip, but Sabine was also in my room.

Unfortunately, our hostel was a bit far away, so we always depended on the shuttle to get to the beach and the center. Of course, the minivan was too small for all the guests. 🚐 so we didn't have a seat one time...

Even though everything is decorated for Christmas, it still feels like summer to me. β˜€οΈ

The beach was completely crowded...

In the evening, we went to the Aldi supermarket, which was two kilometers away, to buy some groceries. It was my first Aldi experience while traveling. 😍 For dinner, we had omelette for a change, but it didn't turn out well because of the non-stick pan...🍳

26th November - Day in Noosa

Today, Sabine, Jenny, and I met Andy in the center of Noosa.

Since it was the weekend, the center of Noosa, especially the beach, was completely overcrowded.

Noosa is a very fancy, upscale, and completely overpriced town. Here, I saw German cars for the first time.

By the way, in Australia, you can't get an ice cream for less than 5 dollars! 🍨🍦 so it was clear that the price in Noosa started at 7 dollars. 🀣

We went for a hike in the National Park. And we chose the Tanglewood Track and coast walk.

Surprisingly, it was quite quiet there and walking in the forest was very pleasant.

The coast walk was really beautiful - it's simply breathtaking to walk along the coast.

We didn't see any of the following animals at the viewpoints.🐬🐨

Short stop in the park

Here, the retirees also enjoyed themselves with wine πŸ·β›΅

Laguna Lookout

Afterwards, we went to the lookout point over the city - Laguna Lookout. The path there was very steep and exhausting. Andy and Sabine almost wanted to give up. πŸ™ˆ

'steep climb'

The steep path up the mountain went through the wealthy district of Noosa.

But in the end, we made it.

The viewpoint was also accessible by car, so we met some retirees up there.

In the evening, we were exhausted and went to bed early.

Noosa & Arrival in Brisbane

Jenny and I spent our last day in Noosa strolling through the city.
The shops were really cute - if only everything wasn't sooo expensive...

Christmas decorations πŸŽ„πŸŽ†πŸ¨

We cooked pasta with pesto for lunch. 🍝

At 4pm, it was time to go to Brisbane. Luckily, we had the hostel's shuttle 🚐 to take us back to the bus stop. πŸ˜ŒπŸš‰

Welcome to Brisbane

In the evening, we arrived in Brisbane at 6:30pm. This time, we were unlucky and there was no shuttle waiting for us. So we walked the 2km to our hostel. Walking is getting more and more tiring, as I have to carry my two backpacks and all the food... 🍌🍎🍞🍢🍴

At first, we really wondered where we had ended up when we saw the hostel from the outside, but it was really great. πŸ‘

Our welcome drink at the hostel. I had never experienced anything like that before πŸ˜‚πŸ€” it was super sweet 🍹

Although we spent the whole day on the bus, we were really exhausted and went to sleep right away. Tomorrow, sightseeing was on the agenda again.
