On the eve, we decided to take the day easy. To sleep in and above all avoid the sun. Our sunburn is incredibly painful!! We looked for an option to not waste the day in Chiang Rai completely lazily and at the same time not be exposed to the blazing sun. The decision quickly fell on the Central Plaza shopping center. As leisurely as we were on this day, we only reached the center at 4:30 p.m.
We strolled through the large halls and were surprised at how modern everything was. It is in no way inferior to the German shopping centers.
Without having breakfast beforehand, hunger slowly started to creep in and we looked for a suitable option, which is not a problem in a shopping center. In the end, our eyes were bigger than our stomachs and we quickly decided on a Thai buffet...GOIL!!! We were the only 'foreigners' there and enjoyed it to the fullest. The raw food rushed past us on conveyor belts and we ourselves could cook our selected dishes in a 'hot pot' filled with two different soups. A great experience. There were also pre-prepared dishes for immediate consumption. Quite sensibly, we didn't stuff ourselves completely. The buffet was the only big highlight in the shopping center, which is generally very European and offered no real novelties.
On the 'way home', we made a short stop at the night market in Chiang Rai. However, there wasn't anything particularly interesting there, so we quickly returned to our accommodation and ended the evening with two cold beers and music.
