240.-242. Day 13.05. - 15.05. Auckland and flight back home

Monday 13.05.

Off to Auckland, but we didn't explore the city itself. We went to the van rental place, returned the car, and made our way to our Airbnb, an accommodation in a house with a Japanese family. In the afternoon, we went for a long walk, almost got lost, and then had a relaxing night.

Tuesday 14.05.

Day of the journey back home. After 7 months and 30 days, it was time for me to go back to the airport and start the long journey back home. Our taxi driver was a Filipino who had lived in Stuttgart for years, and we spoke in German.

At 12:30, just before the flight, we had the famous pre-flight beer.

And then we boarded the plane.

The flight was quite uneventful, and we landed in Singapore, where we had a 3-hour layover before taking the direct flight to Munich with Singapore Airlines.

Wednesday 15.05.

Exactly 8 months ago, on 15.09.2018, my journey began with many tears into the unknown!

And now, time has passed so quickly, with many acquaintances, new friendships, and experiences that I will never forget.

Arriving at the satellite in Munich, Terminal 2, I took the train to the exit. I joined the queue at customs because I was carrying animal products with me, which included a self-made deer antler bottle opener, but it was not a problem. When I walked through the exit door, I was amazed. All my loved ones were there.

It was a huge surprise as I didn't expect it at all.

Katrin and Peter even topped it off with a case of wheat beer from Franziskaner!!

And everyone had another surprise in store for us, a white sausage breakfast at Barbara's home, with all her loved ones.

Well, that was it, the eventful journey of 'Hopfe goes Kangaroo'!!

I will probably tell some of these stories for the rest of my life, and I already look back with pleasure on every single day, every thought, and every experience.
