Lakefield NP

The Lakefield NP offers nothing but wildlife, outback, and solitude. In our campsite, we didn't meet anyone except for wild boars, wallabies, and all sorts of birds. Of course, there are plenty of mosquitoes here too, as this NP is located directly next to several waterholes and a river. If we had shouted, no one would have heard us - but we didn't 😉 There is a toilet at the ranger station approximately in the middle of the NP. The waterholes are full of water lilies and water birds - spoon-billed geese, herons, jabirus...

No rain! We continued through the national park to the Hann Roadhouse, where we refueled and treated ourselves to our first burger a lot (with everything, pineapple, beetroot, fried egg:-)).

Since the campsites along the road are always dusty, I looked for one a bit off the beaten path and found it at Koolburra Farm. On the way there, we saw many birds and animals. The cows had to be moved off the road - they had made themselves comfortable there - it seemed that not many people passed by. Upon arriving at the farm, we were greeted by a waterhole and many wallabies and birds - bee-eaters, cockatoos, and parrots. We were completely alone at the campsite - only another car arrived in the dark. The sunrise and sunset were stunning.
