I wake up alone, everything is so quiet. First I read out my book, which is also a reading recommendation not only for Georgia lovers: Nino Haratischwili, The Eighth Life. Then I pack, clear the room and go to the coffee shop for a delicious breakfast. I quickly leave Tbilisi, it goes uphill to a height of over 1000 m. Then down again into a valley and up again to over 2000 m. Snow-covered mountains and sparkling lakes greet me in bright sunshine, I meet other individual travelers . This goes on for several hours. At the end I turn into a beautiful valley and reach the cave city of Vardzia. It was built in the 12th century and is also on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Around 3,000 apartments were built over seven floors in an approximately 500 m high rock face, which are connected to each other by tunnels and stairs. 50,000 people lived here. An impressive facility. Now it's time to say goodbye to Georgia, I choose the border crossing in the mountains near Posof. Everything goes smoothly within about 30 minutes. I find a nice parking space in a deep ravine, the two pictures are from the next morning. 9617 km
