Further west, towards Land's end, we traveled through the Devon district. Here in Dartmoor national Park, there is a beautiful little hiking trail, only 2 hours round trip. Surrounded by green meadows and a mossy, rocky landscape, we hiked for a while to Wistman's wood. The route here on the B3357 is a stunning road across the high moorland, where wild horses and thousands of sheep roam. Although they belong to someone, they have no fences restricting them, and they have so much space that the animals are practically wild. Definitely worth a road trip!
Wistman's wood is a small piece of forest on this vast area, barely 2-3km2 in size. But entering there is like stepping into a magical forest!
