A devilish hello to you all and welcome back,
For once, I'm writing to you today not from a coffee but directly from the campsite. Actually, I had also chosen a nice hiking route for today, but due to low motivation and since I will only have good weather for the next 5 days, I decided on a quiet day. The weather is therefore a factor in my decision, as I want to get to France relatively quickly in the next 5 days and therefore allow myself another day of rest.
So much for today - more about yesterday and before.
Another hike I did in the Serra da Estrela before heading to Braga is the hike along the old Roman aqueduct to Devil's Rock. I started this hike and ended it at the river swimming pool. An incredibly great place that the community has created here. A swimming pool on a cool river with fresh water throughout and a great setting in the middle of nature.
It was twice as nice because there wasn't a soul here and I had the whole swimming pool to myself. First for a few photos and after the hike for a great way to cool off. Since something needs to be done before cooling off, let's talk about my hike:
Beautiful flowers grew along the way and the nature was simply breathtakingly beautiful.
When I arrived at the waypoint, I walked along an old water canal until I reached my destination. The carrion views were wonderful and I didn't meet anyone on my entire route.
After a good hour and countless stops to take photos, I arrived at my destination: the Devil's Rock. A rock formation that gets its name from the devil's horns. And to be honest, she looks like a little devil too.
But the dam and the pools that are hidden behind this dam are much more beautiful. Super small and with super cool water.
After exploring the pools and the cave behind the dam, I went back to the swimming pool and there I cooled down and washed off the sweat. It was a dream!!!! A very fresh and refreshing dream.
Afterwards I put on something comfortable and drove to Braga for the next few hours.
But more on that in a short post later.
