Day 38: Kingston SE - Mount Gambier

Lolomiina: 30.11.2016

Today we have a short distance ahead of us (from Kingston SE it is about 160 km to our destination Mount Gambier) and therefore we can take it easy. After a hearty breakfast, we will refuel and then start at 11:30 am.

The drive mostly takes us through agricultural areas. Everything is very green. We see endless sheep and cows and even more bales of straw. They are simply left lying in the fields here. The last part of the drive goes through forests up to Mount Gambier. The kids sleep through most of the journey.

We arrive at the campsite at 1:30 pm. We wash our laundry and have a snack. Then we start the walk around the Blue Lake (crater lake, which changes its color from gray to blue from November to April). We are on the road for about 1.5 hours. The path is continuously paved and therefore perfect for strollers. The views of the lake are beautiful. Mount Gambier/Blue Lake make for a nice intermediate destination, but are not an absolute must.

Samuel has another round on the trampoline at the campsite and then we cook dinner. Today we have something sweet - Kaiserschmarrn.
