Costa Dorada Mont de Roig 25/10/2019

Lolomiina: 25.10.2019

The sun is back, it has been shining for 2 days and we have almost forgotten the terrible 'Medicane'. We are now on the Costa Dorada, also known as the Golden Coast, south of Tarragona. The parking space is a recommendation from the internet and it's a hit for us. We are really in the front row, right by the sea. It really looks like the Caravaning advertisement here... The temperatures? a delightful 25° with a clear sky and the water is still 20°. It is incredibly beautiful to go into the sea in the morning and then listen to the waves while enjoying a cup of coffee and watching the sun rise in peace.

Yes... we deserve this.

There are also nice people here with whom we quickly made contact. One person is particularly worth mentioning. KLAUS. He is a senior traveler who has made the journey from Berlin to Mont de Roig completely alone, and not for the first time. It may not be particularly spectacular if you disregard Klaus' age. But our Klaus is a tender 88 years old and we find that remarkable-

He trains on his exercise bike for an hour every day, which he carries in his motorhome. Then he rides at least 20 km with his e-bike. He says he has a biological age of 65 and I believe him immediately. He has impressed us very much.

Then there's the 'crazy' painter from Holland. He lives here on the site with his girlfriend and 2 dogs. He knows everyone and everything here and can tell incredible stories.

Also interesting is the Christmas tree seller from Schabeutz. He and his wife are soon going back home to take care of the Christmas tree business, and then they will be back here no later than February. Like everyone who is here, they keep coming back here.

This place seems to have something magical. Holger also told me today that he wants to stay a bit longer here. I'm curious when we will leave this place.

PS: The strong storm had washed up a lot of plastic waste from the sea onto the beach. It didn't look particularly nice and spoiled our view of the sea. And what does my Holger do? Right, he doesn't hesitate, puts on gloves, takes a plastic bag in his hand, and starts cleaning up. Since then, everyone here at the site knows us. :-)

Hello Regina, thanks for asking, Waltraut is doing well. She especially loves it here. The sandy beach, the sun, and the sea remind her of her homeland Greece. She has never played at the Baltic Sea like this before.
