Meji Shrine, parks and the Skytree

After another not really restful night (the jetlag continues), on Wednesday we took the subway to Ueno, a district of Tokyo. Here one of the last battles within Japan took place. In addition, the cherry blossom is celebrated here in spring.

We continued to a kind of home museum, where, among other things, an old toy store was set up and we could dress up :D

After lunch at a very confusing market, we continued to Asakusa, the district where our hotel is located and a former entertainment district.

In Tokyo, it is often the case that only shops from one area are located in a street. For example, in Asakusa there is a street where you can only buy accessories for the house shrine. In another street there is only kitchen accessories. Since it is common here for restaurants to display their dishes as photos or plastic models, you could also buy plastic versions of all kinds of food here.

Past a jungle café with owls and other wild animals, we went to the small Japanese market and the temple from the first day. Today we had more time to look around.

Finally, we visited the Skytree. This is the second tallest building in the world.

The next morning we first visited Meji Shrine. Coincidentally, a Japanese wedding took place exactly at this time, so we could at least get a small insight into this ceremony.

Afterwards, we visited Yoyogi Park, where the Olympic Village was located in 1964.

We spent our lunch break in a Korean district.
