And then we'll drive to Hauenstein to the Schuhmeile. If you've never heard of it - it's a collection of different shops that offer shoes, handbags, sportswear and everything that goes with it. Prices are often lower than in the city center shoe store. Not far away there is a shoe museum to visit, a reminder of the heyday of the Palatinate shoe industry. That is also worth it.

The WASGAU ÖLMÜHLE also has a sales point - a bistro in one of the large stores. There is not only delicious espresso and homemade cakes; Hot dishes are also very tasty. The “NJUSLÄDDER” from the oil mill is available here. Only the headings are written this way. I had to get used to it. There is also the associated farm shop in Hauenstein. It may be small, but every visitor is warmly welcomed and no question goes unanswered.

There was still a lot left of this Saturday, so we once again went looking for a background for another assignment. The weather was very changeable, which doesn't matter as long as a protective electric car surrounds the person. And because we hadn't been on France's motorways for so long, we tried to use the navigation system to guide us to the Baden side. Didn't quite work out; The navigation system didn't know the place or the Kappelrodeck wine cooperative. Both are known beyond national borders! It doesn't matter - we know our stuff and found the desired destinations. It was a wonderful journey over small country roads and through even smaller towns. Some of the winegrowers had already finished their spring pruning or were in the process of trimming the old vines. There's always this mix of sunshine and different colored clouds. At times we were on very steep and narrow streets. Every house in the vineyards and towns offered a wine sale. Or holiday apartments I would like to come back to these offers in the summer. If you would like to take this trip: it was the L5369, which also runs through Durbach. Later it will be called Weintalstrasse.

In Berghaupten the MARKET BARN also attracted visitors. This is also a special kind of excursion destination. There is not only the nature park market, but also delicious food. In summer, the beer garden is a special attraction: sculptors have built beautiful stations around it using trees from the surrounding area. Even if there is no outside entertainment due to the time of year, these wayside shrines can be visited at any time. And while we enjoyed the fries and bacon bread (three slices of bread with lots of Black Forest ham), the electric car filled up with gas.

It was a nice trip. And dinner at home was canceled. No problem with the amount of food.
