The vacation house in Abidjan

Abidjan has a seaport with a container terminal and an international airport. In addition to the existing container terminal, China's Harbour Engineering Company is building another container terminal (Côte d'Ivoire Terminal) with a quay length of 1,100 meters and an initial annual capacity of 1.2 million TEUs (container ship capacity) in 2021.

In the Vridi district of Abidjan, there are additional beaches around the lagoon with palm trees and coconut palm trees, which are very popular on weekends due to the picturesque view of the pineapple and coconut sellers. However, due to the tidal waves that almost hit the entire coast of the Gulf of Guinea, swimming in this region is generally not allowed. My friend knew the honorary consul there, who came from Baden near Vienna. He had a motorboat and a vacation house on the beach. The crossing took about an hour. When we arrived, we were greeted by mangroves and a beautiful piece of land in Africa. The launching of the motorboat was an adventure, just like pulling it out of the water again.
