Tag 334 - Chiang Mai @ Cozy Time Villa Hotel

Hello dear ones

Today another journey was on the agenda, because we went to Chiang Mai ☺️

Our alarm clock rang at 6 o'clock, which we put back into snooze mode until 6:30. But then it was really time to get up.

We got ready, packed everything, checked out and walked to the road to look for a taxi. We didn't wait two minutes before one arrived.

Arrived at the airport, we were able to check in directly, ate a sandwich and lined up for the baggage check. After that, we could go through everything to the plane - the timing was so perfect!

The plane took off at 9:35 am and after a two-hour flight we arrived in Chiang Mai. This time we rented a car, a Nissan Almera, directly at the airport. Since we have planned a few trips with several kilometers here in the north and the weather is a bit colder, the car won ☺️

Everything went extremely smoothly, completely against our expectations, because we forgot our international driver's license at home ☺️

Five minutes later, the vehicle was already waiting in front of the airport entrance and we could take it over. 

I took over the way from the airport to the hotel and was already confused at the start: As usual, I wanted to set up the driver's seat first, opened the front left door and.... realized that the steering wheel is logically on the right here!!! Ok, now we could get started ☺️

At first it was very strange in the right-hand drive car, the whole driving feeling was somehow different...But after a while it went well ☺️

We reached our hotel around 12:30 pm and, as always, we are very satisfied with our room ☺️.

Since we didn't have a very detailed plan for our time here in Chiang Mai, we sat on the terrace for a while to gather information.

Most things were relatively far away (between 1-3 hours per way), until we found a road through the jungle on maps, which passed by a few nice points.

At 2 pm we set off and already half an hour later we reached the first sight: a waterfall 😅

We thought we could stop briefly, see the waterfall and continue to the next point, but the plan didn't work ☺️. Because to get to the waterfall, we drove into a national park, parked the car and started walking. In the national park we saw that there is not only one waterfall here, but ten! Without a plan, we started walking and let ourselves be surprised by what we would encounter. It was a bit unexpected, but we actually saw every single one ☺️

Most of the waterfalls themselves were very pretty, but not particularly spectacular, but the whole surrounding with the little path through the jungle was really great!  

At the second-to-last one, we took a little break, then briefly looked at the last one and started our way back.

When we were back at the car, it was already 5 pm and we were getting really hungry. We drove towards the hotel and looked for a restaurant on the way. Just before the hotel, we decided to get something at McDonald's and eat it comfortably on the terrace.
