And much faster than you can imagine, you are suddenly right in the middle of it. The first courses of the organization are over and within a few hours you are completely on your own. During the seminars, you received many helpful tips, but you still feel anything but prepared. My first great acquaintance (Tessa) and I booked another night in the centrally located hostel for a lot of money, so we won't be on the street like everyone else starting tomorrow. Nevertheless, everything revolves around 'Where should we sleep?'. The couchsurfing accounts have been created and filled out and the first hosts here in Vancouver have been contacted. Now it's time to cross our fingers and hope for a quick and above all positive response. But also consider a plan B. Well, there is no plan B yet. We also need to start thinking about the first job when we look at our expenses. Like many others, I have decided to stay in Vancouver for now, as it is quite easy to find jobs here. But my plan is to travel on within the next 6 weeks at the latest. But plans are constantly changing here anyway, so I'll just go with the flow and see what happens and where my path leads me. As for my first impressions here, I can only say that Vancouver is incredibly beautiful, has a lot to offer, and is simply incredibly versatile. The city's atmosphere is friendly, open, relaxed, and cheerful, equally shaped by amazingly good street music and booming sirens. In any case, it is anything but European. Yesterday evening we ate in a pub where suddenly there was dancing, singing, and air guitar playing. We Germans could hardly believe our eyes.
The only downside here: at 18 years old, I'm still not of legal age, so I can't drink beer, enter many clubs and bars, sign a cell phone contract, and so on and so forth...
I will let the rest of the week come to me, let myself be carried away by the big city, and will get back to you when I know what's next. Good night, dear ones =)
