On the other hand, you definitely have to book the tickets for the Musée d'Orsay online. No one will be allowed in without a reservation or online ticket. Even though the booking process is cumbersome, the visit is worth it. Luckily, there were no queues in front of the museum this year. We still remember what it looked like here in 2019. Back then, we would have had to wait at least 3 hours.

By the way, the Musée d'Orsay is already interesting as a building. The former train station was opened in 1900 for the World's Fair. Over time, its platforms became too short for modern trains, so it was closed down and even considered for demolition. But under President Giscard d'Estaing, the decision was made in 1977 to turn the station into a museum. That was a good decision, the hall is a great exhibition space, even for large and unusual exhibits. Here stands Marguerite, for example, an Indian elephant lady who lived in Paris from 1798 to 1816. The museum offers space for everything that was created between 1848 and 1914. But of course, the clock of the train station is always a special focal point and a very popular photo object.

By the way, sensitive paintings are stored in darker side rooms. But our dear Goethe can of course be found right at the entrance of the main hall. He has been everywhere.

We have also been to almost every corner as travel aunts. And that's why we continue to work on our list. Off to Avignon...

Es ist anscheinend die beste Zeit um zu reisen 😂 In London gibt es auch keine Warteschlangen.
