The KNAUS campsite in Bad Dürkheim is very special. It is enormous, and you ride your bike from the reception to the tent area for about 500 meters. The tent area has approximately the following disadvantages:
No tree that could provide shade,
The sanitary buildings are about 200 meters away,
The tent area is located directly next to the departure direction of the airplanes (in the afternoons, there were about 8 take-offs per hour),
The train line runs along the edge of the tent area, just 20 meters away. Fortunately, trains do not run at night.
The petting zoo is in close proximity. One must appreciate the whinnying, snorting, bleating, and the smells.
Advantages: Nothing that really stands out, aside from the lake, if swimming is desired.
In Nieder-Olm we made a stop at Jutta and Peter's and took a nice walk around the town in the afternoon. This way, we finally got to know the artworks of Liesel Metten, which are placed at unfortunately quite hidden spots.
