The normal school life starts

شايع ٿيل: 16.10.2018

Hello to all interested people on both continents.

Together with my host sister Katlyn I go to Charles City High School. Today was the first time I experienced a real high school day. Every schoolday starts at 8:20 am and until now every morning will start with 42 minutes Sport. Compared to our P.E lesson the time is really short to change clothes and the room. The P.E lessons are mostly designed by the students. That is the reason why they usually play a game together. Today they played Charles City Townball which is comparable with the German Brennball. After the P.E lesson we spent an hour in the German class to help with pronunciation exercises and vocabulary training. Then we had Gouverment and Geometry. From 11:14 am till 11:40 am we had lunch break in the cafeteria where we had pizza today. After a free lesson we continued with two hours of English. At least we had math where everyone could work independently. To sum up there are different subjects like pottery or orchestra. Another big difference is that the students change the rooms after lesson and not the teacher.

All the German students in Charles City High will end their day with a trip to Mason City where we all will go to the cinema and have dinner together afterwards.

Hello to all interested people on both continents,

together with my host sister Katlyn, I go to Charles City High School. Today was the first time I experienced a real high school day. Every school day starts here for me at 8:20 a.m. and will now start every morning with 42 minutes of sports. Compared to our sports lessons, the time is really short, because you only have 4 minutes to change clothes and change rooms. The sports lessons can mostly be designed by the students, which is why they usually play a game together. Today they played Charles City Townball, which is comparable to the German game Brennball. After the sports lesson, we had an hour of German on the schedule, where we could help with pronunciation exercises and vocabulary training. Then we had an hour of government and geometry. From 11:14am-11:40am, there was a break in the cafeteria, where we had pizza today. After a free period, we continued with two hours of English, and in the end, we had a math class where everyone could work independently. One thing I noticed at the high school is that they have different subjects than us, such as pottery or orchestra. Another difference is that the students have to change rooms after class, not the teachers.

All the German exchange students in Charles City will now end their day with a trip to Mason City, where we will go to the movies and then eat dinner together.
