So let's go with the big luggage, to Lencois. The small town is located in the Chapada Diamantina Nature Park. From there you can take many small or even multi-day tours in the nature reserve.

On the first day, a few people from my hostel asked me if I wanted to accompany them to Morro do Pai Inacio. But nobody mentioned that we can only get to the foot of the mountain by bus and not back... After walking up for 2 hours, the view into the valley was really worth it. The sunset was also very spectacular, but here pictures probably say more than words...

By the way, fortunately a tourist bus took us back, I was quite happy not to walk 15 km home at night... :D

The next day I went on a horseback riding trip, where we made a stop at a natural water slide far away from the tourist groups.

30 minutes walk from Lencois you can find natural pools where you can swim. The locals even jump from rock ledges into the dark holes in the ground.
