Hey! Today just a short post because we spent a lot of time on the road. But let's start from the beginning: This morning we had to pack our bags again, make sure not to forget anything, and dress comfortably! It was raining outside and we were afraid that the whole day would be like that. The subway then took us to our new mode of transportation within half an hour: a red Jeep Cherokee. We are very happy with our vehicle. We have Bluetooth to listen to our specially created Spotify playlist with all the songs about the USA. The car is comfortable, everything has its place, or we have just already cluttered it up. But for a week now, it's our baby. Everything worked out well, we are now on the road! 🚘
We first stopped at Walmart to buy some toiletries and water. We also got our awesome food for the journey here: toast with ham & cheese. Marie can already see no more sandwiches. Benny is already thinking about Subway again.
Before heading to Toronto, we decided on a national park as an intermediate stop: Delaware National Recreation Area with the Water Gap. We had already picked out a hiking trail beforehand, and well, I don't know if we should consider ourselves hikers of intermediate difficulty in the future. Definitely after the vacation.
We first came across a small waterfall, which is really just beautiful to look at (not every picture can be a highlight 😁). That was quite a lot uphill with lots of little stones, but the view rewarded everything and luckily the sky cleared completely and we had a fantastic view. Fingers crossed that it continues like this!
After about three quarters of an hour, we didn't find it so funny anymore that the sun was shining. We were completely exhausted. It was so incredibly exhausting and every fold of our bodies was sweating. One kilometer took over 20 minutes because it was only uphill. But all for the view! Maybe you can tell from Benny that it wasn't that great 😅.
Once we arrived at the top, we caught our breath and then looked at Mount Minsi. A beautiful place to linger (if you don't have to go up).
And then we went all the way back. It ended up being 7 km, a bit painful in our thighs and buttocks. On the way back, we greeted the local animals and headed back to the car.
Since we wanted to see another view, we quickly drove to the other side of the road.
And then we drove for about 3 more hours to the north of the USA. Here we stop for a night to recharge for tomorrow's day!
Bye or as the Americans would say: Take care!
