Beautiful old town and football

Опубликовано: 27.01.2018

Today (27.01.18) we set off on our bikes after breakfast. Our group now consists of 5 people. Tim, Rene, and myself, Erkan, he is also German and we met him because he sleeps in the same room as us. And Prache, she is Indian and has quit her job at a travel agency and is now traveling for 3 months. We are a cool group! So we first went to the beach. However, only four of us went as Rene was still getting his suit tailored. Hoi An is known for many very cheap and high-quality tailors. We met him at the beach. Erkan and I also jumped in for a round. There were very big waves and not particularly clean, but it was enough for a nice refreshment :) After that, we drove back to the hostel to shower and then headed to the old town. Today was the final of the U23 League in the Asia Cup. The preparations were in full swing everywhere. The Vietnamese are totally crazy about it. There is not a centimeter that is not covered with flags and stickers and they have already been driving around the city honking and blowing Vuvuzelas even before the game. So we looked for a place in the beautiful old town, which was not easy at all. Everything was packed. We eventually found a place, but the broadcast was so bad that we were constantly one minute behind the others because it kept pausing. So we already knew when a goal was scored. We walked around and found a good restaurant with a TV and a thousand small chairs and stools. The score was 1-1 at halftime. The game took place in China and it was snowing like crazy there, so the halftime break lasted 1 hour because dozens of Chinese people cleared the field by hand :D Well then it continued. Uzbekistan was clearly better, but they somehow managed to make it into overtime. 118th minute, corner for Uzbekistan and a goal. It was a shame, we would have loved to celebrate with the Vietnamese. A Vietnamese guy drummed throughout the entire game on an aluminum tray with a screwdriver. It was full of holes afterwards :D Some people were crying and the other half still partied :D After that, we went to eat with a couple from New Zealand. It was really good and very cozy! Then we walked through the old town. I haven't seen anything this beautiful in a long time. Small alleyways and cute shops everywhere, with a river running through the middle and beautifully decorated bridges. There were small candle boats in the river and Chinese lanterns hung everywhere. Dreamlike and very romantic. We will go back there tomorrow. I would love to live there!

We then came back and now we are all lying in bed. It was a nice day :)
