Heyyy,
we started our day on Wednesday around 10 o'clock by driving on the Great Ocean Road 🤩. Before that, we went shopping and equipped ourselves with the essentials.
We drove along the Great Ocean Road and first stopped at a lighthouse. We explored the surroundings and enjoyed the beautiful view. We didn't actually go up to the lighthouse because the admission was too expensive. 💸
We had a milkshake at the adjacent café and talked to locals who gave us some helpful tips.
Then we went to 'Teddys Lookout', where we stood high up on the cliffs and admired a beautiful view of the water and rocks. Mareike and I decided to take a walk through the nearby forest. It was worth it, as we saw our very first koala in the wild! 🤩🐨 He was mostly sleeping, but woke up from time to time when he heard something threatening. Afterwards, we had lunch at the lookout and enjoyed a great view. 🏞
Then we drove to the 'Eskine Falls', a waterfall in the national park which was actually more beautiful than we had imagined (most of the internet reviews were negative).
Afterwards, we went to a small town (Lore) nearby. We strolled around a bit and found an outlet 🤩. And of course, we found something there too. 🛍 Then we spent a few hours in this town, had some ice cream, went to the beach, and played games.
In the evening, we went to our campsite, cooked dinner, and finally Tim and Ann-Estelle arrived. They are actually in Melbourne for work, but their boss currently doesn't have any work for them, so they have time for us. We decided the day before to drive the Great Ocean Road together. 😊
So we had dinner, drank our wine, and had a lot of conversations. 🥂
Since we may have looked a little too deep into our cups, I didn't manage to write the blog earlier. 😅
Greetings from Australia! 🇦🇺
