Hi everyone!
One thing we didn't mention: when we got to our camper this morning, the battery was dead. Luckily, it was only the one for the interior, so we could still drive. We forgot to turn off the heater before we left.......
The battery was completely discharged and had to be replaced. I guess that's our punishment....
We got up at 11 a.m., which sounds like a lie-in, but we didn't get more than 6 hours of sleep. Kevin looked online for a new battery and I worked on the pictures. We found one and called right away to reserve it. Wow, their English here... I had to ask three times for every sentence to make sure everything was clear.... But we overcame this hurdle and were able to go pick up our battery :).
However, the shop was in Glasgow, which means we drove back everything we had driven yesterday - and later again, because we had to go in the other direction.... Anyway, the main thing is that everything worked out :).
In the shop, we also asked if they had a horn (we've been driving without one for about two months, ours gave up the ghost). The salesman didn't understand us, so I pretended to push a horn and made a "Tuuuut tuuuut" sound. He and Kevin burst out laughing, but he understood and we got one :D.
After the shop, we headed back north and after about an hour's drive, we ended up in a huge traffic jam... There must have been an accident... :s
Kevin looked at me and said, "You know what? Let's turn around - we don't have to go anywhere. So let's just go to another place." I smiled and agreed - we really are free :)). We took a side road that had more in common with a roller coaster than with a real road. A little further ahead, there was another traffic jam. After a while, we couldn't believe our eyes: a truck was coming towards us and causing the traffic jam! Even though trucks are not allowed on this road! We were really worried! Crossing here with a truck seemed impossible! Kevin skillfully maneuvered the camper close to a bush and managed to pass. But afterwards, we were drenched in sweat and the side of our camper had suffered quite a bit... The drivers behind the truck all shook their heads and shouted at us, "This idiot, he knows that he's not allowed to drive here...!"
We kept driving and driving until we finally decided to push on to "Oban". We didn't really want to drive that far today, but that's how it turned out :).
In Oban and the surrounding area, there are supposed to be a lot of seals - at least that's what we read. Since we've come so far today, we can stay in the area tomorrow and search for the seals :).
Today, the sun was shining all day with a proud 26 degrees - it's nice to be back :)).
Now we're enjoying the evening and looking forward to what tomorrow will bring :)
About the pictures: we were busy with them all day long :). Days 1-6 are now finished - the last day and the pictures from today will follow tomorrow. We hope you like them ;)
See you soooooon!
