There's not much to report from today and we hardly took any photos. However, we can claim that today was Swiss Day. Early in the morning, we received the exciting news that the Swiss mixed curling team won the silver medal (unfortunately lost in the final against Canada). We leave our wonderful accommodation, strengthened with a nutritious breakfast, and drive to Lake Louise.
It's windy and cloudy in Lake Louise. We are considering whether we really want to hit the slopes. In the end, we reluctantly pay the 109.20 Canadian dollars and ride up with the old "Swiss gondola". The ski resort is large, but it's windy in many places and Yves is freezing most of the time. For lunch, we go to the Temple Lodge, where they serve a "Canadian" fondue. Well, the cheese is mediocre at best.
After lunch, we hit the slopes again and to wrap up, we take a few rides on the tube. See for yourself...
We continue by car to Banff, where we check in at the Buffalo Mountain Lodge. For dinner, we end up at the Ticino Swiss-Italian Restaurant. For starters, they serve a mini portion of Gruyere cheese and for main course, lasagna or gnocchi. Now we're sitting in front of the unlit fire, writing this report or reading.
