Our journey started in front of our school, from where we drove together to the airport in Berlin Schönefeld. There we checked in first and thus started our first flight, which was the first for two of us, making the whole trip even more exciting. After just under three hours of initially glorious weather, we arrived at the huge airport in Moscow. Behind passport control, a woman was already waiting for us, impatiently looking at her watch, as we didn't have much time until the next departure. Now we had to run to catch the plane to Voronezh. If the woman from the airline hadn't guided us, we probably would have missed our flight.
From Moscow, we flew to Voronezh, where we wanted to stay for the next two weeks. There, the next surprise awaited us: our suitcases didn't make it onto the plane to Voronezh during the short time in Moscow. After inquiring, we were assured that the luggage would be sent with the next flight and would arrive at 7:00 a.m. So we stood in the initially unfamiliar country without our suitcases and had to manage without them for that night.
We were picked up by a nice lady who will lead the language courses in the coming days, and we were taken directly to a self-service restaurant. Here, we could eat Russian food for the first time and it was quite delicious. Afterwards, we strolled to a supermarket to provide ourselves for the one night without our suitcases.
We also had to walk a while to our geek hostel, but this gave us the opportunity to get an impression of the city right away. After the rooms were assigned in our hostel, we could finally fall into bed, exhausted.
