Okinawa Part 2 - Kunigami and cycling to Cape Hedo

Опубликовано: 16.09.2023

With a little hangover from the evening before, we got on the bus and headed north - from the super deserted bus terminal I met a like-minded person from Slovakia who, after reading the book "The Okinawa Style" (also available as an audio book ;- ) set off for Okinawa - he too would like to explore the world and ask the "old people" about the secret of why they get so old. So we moved on together and were surprised by a farmer near the beach with freshly picked tomatoes.

Since we have different travel speeds, I checked into the next hostle, which has the absolutely softest bed linen I've experienced on the entire trip (I can say that because I'm writing the blog post in September and the trip is complete and I sitting on the couch with Robert and Marie in great gratitude). The Yanbaru Hostel impresses with its (un)wanted peace and quiet and makes me want to get on my bike again.

So off to the nearest tourist office and then we went on a bike - an e-bike. A wonderful support, but it still makes me feel a little older.

2 hours of cycling to Cape Hedo and then back - off into the water with the only other guest from the hostel who happened to meet on the street and licking some ice cream and then off on the bus and heading south.

I didn't give myself that much time for the north of Okinawa,

Next stop is the city of Nago.
