03.04. Through the valley without bridges to the Rob Roy Glacier

Опубликовано: 03.04.2018

Ideal weather for hiking. Said and done. We took on the 'Rob Roy Glacier Track' (about 4 hours). For that, we had to take the 50 km long side road to the 'Mount Aspiring National Park'. The second half was only a gravel road and led us into a beautiful valley. The mountains with glaciers could already be seen from a distance. A little adventure is also necessary, so at some point there were no more bridges, but 10 streams on the road (of course with water in them) that had to be crossed. We were sure that it would work at 9, but for one (40 cm high water) we first let another car try. But as the people of Cologne say: It worked out well.

The hike took about 4 hours. There were already fascinating views of the mountains on the way. A glacier always impresses you...
