Unimagined qualities - my husband 'the baker'

Опубликовано: 19.02.2018

On the Seychelles, my husband became a baker. Until then, I had no idea that these qualities were in him. So far, the children had only attested to him making the better pre-baked rolls in our house;-) Prior to all this baking, we had been trying in vain to buy bread or toast or something similar for breakfast. It was sold out in the local supermarket. Paradise is not a land of plenty with unlimited resources after all.

So it happened that my husband came to baking bread in our fully equipped kitchen. A new side of him, initially born out of necessity. But also due to the fact that after the first month of our trip, he couldn't stand toast or white bread anymore. In Germany, we are already very spoiled when it comes to good bread and delicious rolls in all variations from light to dark and in all possible shapes. Even here in Australia, he continues his new 'hobby' in our mini oven in the camper and we eat freshly baked goodies for breakfast. Only Le looks at this with a critical and envious gaze. At 8 months old, he is currently very interested in food and would like to try everything. Unfortunately, due to various food intolerances, he cannot access it here. No problem for Bo, who buys rice flour and tries to make homemade rice sticks for him. However, with a little less success here, as they become rock hard. Now she gives it to Le more or less to chew on and as an occupational therapy. And our biggest worry is that he will hit Ma or Pa on the head with it...
