Auf nach Cambridge (NZ)

Опубликовано: 27.02.2019

By the way, there was a Beef-Beetroot Burger with plenty of aioli yesterday :D and I had to have 12 hours of bed rest from 8pm due to jet lag.

And what is missing besides enough sleep to wake up?

Exactly: a morning swim... if I ever have enough space and money, I'll have a pool!

Feeling fit and motivated, I made my way out of Auckland towards the Coromandel Peninsula. The landscape on the way is somehow similar to the Allgäu, green and hilly (even more extreme than with us), only that the vegetation is mostly made up of tree ferns.

In the Karangahake Gorge, I visited the ruins of a gold mine, but the gorge with its steep green slopes was much more beautiful.

Arriving at the Bay of Plenty, my path leads up and down to Tauranga to Mount Maunganui. Once you have left the harbor behind with all its possible extraction products, you come to a small village right on this offshore rock. The beach and the view are absolutely paradisiacal, so I immediately jumped into the warm waters after my lunch.

From there I drove on to Cambridge today, which will serve as my base for the next two days.

Cambridge itself is a nice little town, but I was a little surprised that both shops and kiosks close between 3:30pm and 5:00pm. But I ended up on a very well-kept campsite.

Have a nice Wednesday!

Good night!
