We had a very exciting stopover in Levin. We wanted to wait and plan for a rainy day there. In fact, the sun came out in the afternoon and it stayed dry. We actually felt very comfortable and were in good spirits. Until a huge, and I mean HUGE, group arrived. They spread so wildly all over the camping meadow and spread completely around our bus. The worst thing about it was the unimaginable volume. No matter where we went on the campsite, you could hear them everywhere. We had no chance of escape. Hour by hour the torture got worse and when they set up their karaoke machine right next to our bus at 9 p.m., I had had enough. I have to say that I have a bit of a karaoke trauma from Indonesia. I ask if it can be quieter and I get the answer: "I thought the night wasn't until 10 p.m.." Well, that's not necessarily a reason to turn the volume all the way up. In the end they laughed at me and it didn't change anything. When there was still no peace at 10:10 p.m. and I had spoken to the campsite owner, we were allowed to move. Even then you could still hear the group. But luckily it wasn't that bad anymore.
We started the morning with a workout and a hearty breakfast. Afterwards we went to Oakura and decided we needed a vacation now.
When we arrived in Oakura, we immediately noticed how we were becoming more relaxed. The campsite is right by the sea and we rent surfboards and neos. For two days we lie in the sun, go surfing, go jogging, read and relax. The most exciting thing is a walk to the café at lunchtime and to the restaurant in the evening.
