Today we were fortunate to find a hostel. Because it was 2 degrees at night. Shortly after 6 o'clock, I set off and realized after half an hour that I couldn't warm up this time. So I put on a jacket, hat, and double pants. When we arrived in Galicia, without counting the time and kilometers, the big cross unexpectedly stood before us. The most spiritual place and religious symbol for the pilgrim. Under the cross, there are infinitely many stones that the pilgrim brings from home to leave here. As a symbol of leaving one's burden on this path. A man cried and spread a small bag of ashes on the stones. Another had lit incense sticks and prayed. A girl, overwhelmed by all these emotions, sat on the stones and cried, a stranger woman came to her, hugged her and said how beautiful it is to have arrived together at this magical place.
Everyone cried, hugged each other, don't know each other and yet are incredibly close and warm.
My two little stones are now also next to the cross :)
In the next town it should be about 8 km. There I arrived at the Donativo an hour early. Fiona is allowed to sleep in the garden. I'll have to cover her with blankets as well. It's really cold at night here on the mountain. Here we even get food. Everything again for a donation.
On the last 100 km or maybe even earlier, the Donativo and Municipal for 5 euros per night come to an end. Going down from the mountains and hopefully sleeping outside in good weather is on the agenda again.
